More on the World of Tomorrow

The NYTimes has a 4 page spread on Kerry Conran, the creative force behind the upcoming Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. Conran sounds like a typical tech guys, right down to being an INTJ on the Breyers -Miggs test. Interesting to note that all prinicpal photography was shot in front of blue screens, with only minimal props. The end result, acting-wise, should be interesting. I like the idea from a "we can now film a movie in any place, real or imagined" perspective, but we'll have to see how it actully pans out. If you have to go with the sepia colored tones Sky Captain uses to help blur the images to make the movie more believable, then I'd think there's a problem with using this technique widely. Again, I'm there opening weekend.
