Looks great! I give it five stars!

Very nice. Like it better than the purple version.

Thanks. Yeah, we got that a lot. For the purple-purists out there, a future update will be a personalization feature to pick your very own blog skin, one of which will be purple.

Err....it seems to have wiped my personal information from the comments section and I've had to re-enter it twice now...

Looks great! the comments' window's lots better!

Fred,

Hmmm. I checked the comments templates, and the cookie code still seems to be intact. It works OK for me. Are you sure you selected "Yes" for "Remember personal info"? Is your browser (or some other app) blocking the cookie?

I did notice that the shortcut links (URL, Bold and italics) were missing, so I added them back.

I guess I have to update the colors of the icon...

Well, my personal information is here now...so go figure...

Technology. Can't live with it, so to heck with it.

One wish: That you either had links for the "bookshelves" or I could read the titles there.

For example, what the heck is the right-most item in JP's Shelf? A video? A book? Magna? A game? Ditto with the second item on John's shelf.

And where is Fred's shelf?

:)

Fred,
Arrgh! I keep overwriting my shelf changes - so I'm not sure to which books you are referring. I added some code to display tool tips for those shelf items that did not already display one. Also, cliking on any shelf item should open a new window to Amazon (or elsewhere in some cases). Try it now.

Posted by John on Saturday May 08, 2004 at 10:54 PM

OK. I've moved the shelf code to an external file so I am less likely to get careless about index template changes.

Links work now, thanks. Planet ES, is the first one I was wondering about...

Actually, I believe its really Planetes which, so my brother says, is Greek for planets. Its an excellent near-future SF anime now showing on Japanese TV.

Planetes!!! I have the first two books, God help me, I actually went out and bought some "magna". I keep hoping it comes out in the US on DVD so I can see what the series looks like. A friend, Winchell Chung, got me started on it (see my blog for links to his Atomic Rockets or Project Rho site).

Ummm, did we ever have a ping section pre 2.0? I see it in the manage blog screen for Last 5 Pings but not in the public area? I've never hit those links before tonite, but I'm finding that they're very interesting, can we put the pings (back?) on the main page?

Posted by Peter on Sunday May 09, 2004 at 10:41 PM

Ping info was always there on the manage page (acessible to authors only - not readers). We never had ping info on the main blog page, but we do have a trackBack link for each post. Trackback shows who is linking to a particular post.
