Photos are available for what is sure to be only one of many different flavors of Star Wars original Trilogy sets: it's the Commemorative Trilogy DVD Collection.
Not that troll Star Wars collecting sites or anything...

First of all, I think you are confused. The story you point to does not say there will be different 'flavors' of the Star Wars DVD sets. What it does say is that Hasbro will releasing several different action figure packs with figures in that pack corresponding to one of the three films. So three Hans, Lukes, Leias, etc.
Beyond that, that site is really interesting. It makes me almost want to cry because my mom tossed out all my Star Wars stuff. I had a really cool Yoda with snake accessory, an X-Wing, a Millenium Falcon. I have to stop now. Im getting all emotional over how much $$$ were tossed out. Ah! Think of all the Star Wars comics (including #1!!!!) and Topps trading cards.
I'm going to go call my mom and sulk at her....

Um... Okay I will have to relinquish my "Fanboy" title to JP - cuz well I am not lamenting lost toys and potential revenue streams - although I am sure he just wants to play with them again...

The "flavor of the month comment was just my prediction. I was just noting that there will most likely be many different "extras" when it comes to the DVD packaging. Remember Monsters, Inc.? Walmart packaged a Monters CD-ROM Pinball game. For Back to the Future (or was it E.T.?) Circuit City gave buyers a keychain.
