Shiver Me Timbers!

I was walking past a books shelf in a supermarket this weekend and saw this atrocity. It's a reissue of Asimov's I, Robot featuring the movie poster with Will Smith. Now, I know that movie adaptations are different than the originating book (by necessity what with it being a different medium), but Yikes! It still sent shivers up my spine.

Looks like its the original text with an updated cover. What is it that they say:

Don't judge a book by its cover -- especially if it has Wil Smith on it.

If nothing else, it might attract people to read a novel that they would not otherwise touch.

Another question for the reader's guide:

What, if anything, does Will Smith's movie have to do with I, Robot? Aside from the name that is.

as in the robotic-like acting epitomized by Wil Smith? or the robotic response of the general masses to flock to his films?
