Here are some pictures of Venus crossing between the Earth and the sun - a rare occurrence (the first time in 122 years).

Unbelievable, two places in Norway got pictures in this piece, and I've been to both. Oslo and Stavanger?!
First of all, being close to summer, daylight lasts a loooong time up there, which is good if you want to see Venus transit the Sun. Second, if any of you get a chance to go to Norway, do it. Its a cool place to visit (literally and figuratively), and home to Ikea! Which has a store in Stavanger....

Next transit is 2012, so we won't have to wait as long as the gap between this one and the last one.
And let's not forget the total eclipse visible over the continental United States (trying to help improve your rating there) in 2017!
