The latest issue of David Langford's Ansible is available.
I like the Ansible, but in this blogging age, a monthly ezine just doesn't cut it with respect to SF news. Even Sci Fi Wire undercuts their own Sci Fi Weekly 'zine in the news department. By the time Sci Fi Weekly posts it each week, it's old news. Same with many of the Ansible items. However, to its credit, the Ansible always offers tidbits that are not mentioned elsewhere.
For example, this interesting quote by Stephen Baxter in the latest issue:
"Did you notice the 12 pages the Grauniad devoted yesterday (26 Aug) to science fiction? Unfortunately it was sf as voted for by scientists, who, with all respect, knew nothing about sf and didn't like what they did know.... About as useful as surveying theologians for their views on synchronised swimming!"
