The Ig Nobel Prize

The Ig Nobel Prize is awarded to people who have ideas that "first makes people LAUGH, then makes them THINK".

Winning ideas include a report on the effect of country music on suicide, investigating the scientific validity of the Five-Second Rule, outsourcing prayers to India and how herrings apparently communicate by farting.
