WTH is Hasbro thinking? In 2006 they will be releasing a line of Star Wars Transformer toys. Vader turns into a TIE Fighter. Grievous turns into a free roaming table saw blade and Luke turns into an X-Wing. Seriously, WTH? Are transforming robots a big thing again?

I want to see the ones where R2D2 turns into an wastebasket, Chewbacca turns into an area rug, and Hayden Christensen turns into a capable actor. Ba-dum, crash!

Absolutely. Transformers have never really gone away - they jsut keep being reincarted in different toy lines or cartoons.
Add in the nostalgic 80's come back, and Transformers are a hot property. A live-action/CG movie being made, more comic books, novels, toys, cartoons... and now Star Wars.
Granted, these SW TFs are fugly!

I think my son (5 yr old and HUGE SW fan) would probably want one, if it came with a Happy Meal.
But he is not a huge fan of "action figures" (i.e. boy dolls). He is collecting lightsabers like General Grevious. (He has more than the fine General by the way; of all types.) I'm going broke on Lightsabers.
