A weekly series based on "Butterfly"? Angst-ridden tweens who can't seem to reason their way out of a paper bag ride their hormonal waves of lust and confusion as they re-write history again and again.

Can't wait.

I finally saw Butterfly Effect a couple of days ago. I's give it the same 2.5/5 star rating that kevin did. Wasn't horrible, but wasn't great either. It made good late-night fare, in an I'm-sleepy-so-I-won't-scrutenize-the-logic-too-much kind of way.

That said, a time travel series (maybe not based on someone reading from a journal) might be welcome.

Because that's exactly what the world needs - more Ashton-inspired television.

If they could get a decent budget for it, the movie-transformed-into-weekly-TV series I'd like to see would be an Alien prequel. Provided, of course, that they don't go the AVP route with it.

Television shows that I'd rather see than a serial "Butterfly":

Gene Roddenberry's Genesis II
Gene Roddenberry's Spectre
Gene Roddenberry's Questor Tapes

The D.C. Fontana series inspired by Doug Trumbull's "Silent Running".

David Gerrold's "Star Wolf" TV series.

Dr. Who (I'll get my wish there!).

A return of Blake's 7.

A return of Star Cops.

A show along the lines of some of the discarded plotlines for "2001", e.g., "How the Solar System Was Won". Heck, you could make the Paul Preuss novels that were inspired by the various Arthur C. Clarke short stories into a mini-series.

Etc.

Hell, I'll vote for the return of "Space: Above and Beyond" or "Seaquest: DSV" before I'll watch "Butterfly: The Series"!

Man, I'd forgotten about Space: Above and Beyond. That show rocked the casbah.

I liked Space: Above and Beyond as well and it was really getting good until Fox screwed that series up too, but everytime I think SciFi is getting thier act together (Dr. Who series in the US) - they come up with some hairbrained crap like this. Which is why I watch mostly DVDs these days - I can choose what I want to see and watch it sans commercials. See I am exercising my capitolistic rights!!!
