Rotten Tomatoes offers a sneak peek at Danny Boyle's sci-fi film Sunshine.
just what the world needs is a remake of "Event Horizon"...I shouldn't be so mean though. The genre does also contain such films as alien, Prince of darkness and the thing (yes that is john carpenter twice) but on the bad side it includes Jason in space, and solaris (both versions...but the book is good)
Hey i have an idea lets have a contest to name the sub-genre:
lets see must have a cast of 3-12 people who are stuck together and they have some sort of sci-fi problem...which often ends up being somehow a fantacy...2001 it was god in event horizon it was hell in prince of darkness it is satan in abyss it is navy seals...in solaris it is...who the hell knows...you get the idea.

which stands for:
If it wern't bad enough that our sub is sinking to the core of Europa but now we have a pathilogical satan alien killing off the crew
