Being the DC comic book geek I was at the time, I did balk at that Superman II scene. Then there was that memory-erasing kiss with Lois.... But I still remember loving the movie back then.

But everyone knows that Mighty Mouse would kick Supes ass. ![]()
I kind of missed with Labor Day weekend and all about Joseph Stefano co-creator and major writer of the original Outer Limits passed away. I'm surpised that I haven't seen more commentary on-line about it.

Guys,
If the Ellison/Willis occurrence was really as distasteful as most people say, then it seems like the proper thing to do would be to take this link down. This seems to have been a very embarrassing situation for Ms. Willis and I think posting a link to her public humiliation, so more people can see it, is not in very good taste.
Just my thoughts,
Cody

I guess my opinion is this (after watching the video):
The entire thing seems to be blown out of proportion and I was expecting it to be a much more overt action. The entire chain of events leading up to the "grope" was done with some humor involved. But lets face it - our posting of a link to the video does not make it worse nor does it put Ms. Willis into an uncomfortable situation. Allowing folks to see the video goes much farther for helping to determine what happened versus using our own imaginations, and I think that is what people are making thier judgements using. Watch the video and then decide - and I would also like to know what Ms. Willis thought of the entire chain of events...

The Ellison (R) Incident appears to be blown out of proportion for three reasons. First, I've seen much worse by "pros" (and fans) at conventions. Second, Ellison has a long record of supporting women writers, be pro women's rights, etc. Third, he's apologized for the maneuver.

Real people are killed everyday.
When public people make an an ass of themselves at the expense of other public people I just can't seem to raise my ere about it.
I want to chastise cody for overblowing this but then that would be against the spirit of what this really is; the sport of celebrity poching.
So in that vein I say this:
White women today are the most privilaged people to ever walk the earth and if one has to endure the occational humilation of a public groping, then so be it.

Connie Willis is a class act of class acts; the real deal as far as an author who respects her fans and her peers. I still say posting the video of such a publicly humiliating moment is in poor taste. Ms. Willis deserves better treatment than endless viewings of her being groped by this doofus.
As for joshua corning's disdain for "white women", such nonsense is not even worth a response.
