It's worth pointing out that Sawyer's Rollback was serialized in Analog magazine (in four parts, I think, from October 2006 through the January/February 2007 issue). It was a decent read.

Serialization brings up a question: How many read them as installments? I tend to let the parts accumulate and then read the novel as a whole.

It doesn't have anything to do with memory. I tend to read something like 25 books at a time, so I can keep the multiple plotlines juggled. I just like to have the whole book there before I start!
