Andrew McGahan's Underground was the best Australian novel of 2006 full stop. It's a blistering indictment on our society and is his best work to date.

I guess not everyone's always in the mood for a blistering indictment. Sometimes you just want a good story. I guess if you're terminally bitter and jaded you're right at home with an indictment, or maybe you should take some anitdepressants and lighten up a little.
