POLL RESULTS: Midriff-Baring Space Royalty
Here are the results of the latest SF Signal poll.

QUESTION
Who is your favorite amongst midriff-baring space royalty?

RESULTS
(126 total votes)
Poor Pricess Aura from 1936! Alas, voters were more merciless than Ming himself.

One comment this week, I guess others were busy ogling:
"I don't think you can go wrong with Queen Amidala. I mean, Natalie Portman's hot, no matter which way you slice it. George Lucas got that right. Once we all grew out of our collective crushes on Leia, along came Amidala, to make us feel creepy and guilty and in love." - Pete
Be sure to vote in this week's poll on Star Trek XI!!

That's a different "Pete." I don't use words like "collective crushes" let alone describing Leia.

Obviously! I think that was Pete Z...the comment only said Pete. Don't worry, we won't confuse our own Pete with one who uses words longer than 2 syllables. :)

Sorry. I'll fully identify myself next time I comment. :)

My favorite Barbarella quote:

Dildano: Are you typical of Earth women?
Barbarella: I'm about average.

Personally, I voted for Amidala because her skin is so smooth, not coarse, rough and irritating because it gets everywhere...like sand. (H)

I voted for Ardala from Buck Rogers simply since I had fond memories of her in my youth. She oozed sex appeal and was well aware that she was hot. Natalie Portman is a beautiful girl/woman, but she was not going for sex appeal (though she gets it from being hot), and Leia was never something I found overly attractive - sorry I have already relinquished my fanboy crown so no hate mail :)

OMG, does Timmy and I actually agree on something on this blog?? I never found Leia that attractive either...

Yeah, like either of you would say "no". :-@

Short observation:

Princess Aura from Flash Gordon (1936)= A Sci-Fi story with a hot chick.
Princess Aura from Flash Gordon (1980)= A Sci-Fi story with a hot chick.
Barbarella, Queen of the Galaxy = A story about SEX with a Sci-fi setting.
Princess Ardala from Buck Rogers in the 25th Century = A Sci-Fi story with a hot chick.
Princess Leia from Star Wars = A Sci-Fi story with a hot chick.
Queen Amidala from Star Wars = A Sci-Fi story with a hot chick.

I knew there was a reason I liked Barbarella. :D
