Use the Stamps, Luke...

[Waves Hand] This is Not The Junk Mail You are Looking for...

The United States Post Office (the people who cannot seem to be able to deliver my Locus magazine without reading it first -- but don't get me started...) is celebrating the 30th anniversary of Star Wars by dressing up some mailboxes around the country to look like R2D2.

Is there nothing beyond George Lucas' reach? What's next? The Jar-Jar fire hydrant?

I thought it was just me with that problem! Mine was not being delivered at all, so after three months of having to nicely ask Locus for a replacement issue every time, I went to the Post Office and fussed about it. As if by magic, the very next day, the most recently missing issue appeared in my mailbox.

Things have been smooth ever since, but I'm still watching my postal carrier with jaded eyes ...

"So make of THAT what you will."

They'll be issuing 30th anniversary stamps later this year too.
