Dear Joel Silver-

Please stay away from science fiction until you have atoned for those previous crimes against filmdom known as the Matrix sequels. Thanks.

Love and kisses,

I think this makes two years since I first heard that Pohl was going to finish the book by Clarke. I sure hope it isn't a sign that the book is in trouble of one sort or another.

Isn't this (Logan's Run) the third announced re-make project? I'm amazed that there is so much interest in such a middle-of-the-road project. How about something original, instead?

Original? What is this "original" of which you speak? :)

O.K., then not a remake?

How about a movie based on one of Alastair Reynolds' tales? A Ken MacLeod book? Something by Clarke? Pohl? Williamson? Bova? Blish? Benford? Bear? Brin? Clement? Anderson? Sheckley? Chandler? Simak? Stapledon? "Doc" Smith? "Cordwainer" Smith?

You get the picture. Why are we rebottling old wine again and again when there is so much new wine to be drunk?
