Who are today's Asimov, Clarke, and Heinlein?
Apparently Card, Skalzi and Simmons...
This should make SF Signal happy seeing as how i never heard of Simmons and Skalzi until i started lurking here. (don't take that as a compliment...i hated Hyperion...Old Man's War was ok)
I will admit Card and Skalzi are better story writers then the classic dudes....still not my first picks as contemporaries...
I would think Vinge, Egan, and Gibson would better at filling their shoes as people who have pushed the art....admittedly Gibson only really has the one book.
