- Guardian lists the Top 10 Dystopian Novels. Sadly, I've only read 3 of them. [via Reading Copy]
- January Magazine talks to John Scalzi about the Hugo Awards, his accidental career as a novelist, "gateway" science fiction and the nature of fame. "Hey, people are paying a not-insignificant amount for the books. They want to have a ride. I think they should get one."

- The Science Fiction and Fantasy Reading Experience has compiled a list of sf/f pseudonyms.
- Closet Sci-Fi Geek is petitioning for a change of leadership at the SciFi Channel.
- PodShow is hosting Old Time Radio Network Scifi, which rebroadcasts classic science fiction radio programs like Escape, Flash Gordon, Hall of Fantasy and Superman.
- Speaking of radio, XM radio to will air readings of classic books, beginning with Bradbury's Farenheit 451.
- Real Science: NASA's images from the Apollo moon landings, the Voyager planetary flybys and space shuttle missions will soon be accessible through a searchable website.

LORD OF THE FLIES and DIARY OF ANNE FRANK are on this list. Not that they are not perfectly good novels, but I think you have to stretch the definition of the word "Dystopian" to an unrecognizable shape to fit these books in that categories.
Is every book set in a Nazi-occupied or Communist-occupied territory a dystopia? Is the film CASABLANCA a dystopia?
