Will you still love me if I admit to watching this show in my youth?

There is no shame in loving Sid & Marty Krofft, John. Embrace the love.

I watched a lot of trash, kitsch and ephemera in marathon bouts of stupefied Saturday morning childhood consumption, but Sigmund and the Sea Monsters was too dull and idiotic for even my pathetically low standards.

But what about the important questions?
What about the important genre categorization of the show?
Since it has sea monsters - so is cryptozoology SF, fantasy or blurs that line? Of course the genie in show says fantasy, unless the genie represents sufficiently advanced tech to appear to be magic?
But really isn't Sigmund just a puppet sea monster of Casper, the Friendly Ghost - with the genie substituting for Wendy the Witch?
Since the lead has tentacles and is names Sigmund - is he Freudian?

Sometimes a sea monster is just a sea monster. ![]()

No, because without even watching the clip I now have that damn theme song stuck in my head. Thanks a bunch....

You better run, you better hide, you better keep out of sight. Be Careful, Sigmund!

Only if you wear the seamonster suit, then I'll love you forever.

If I could stomach the Billy Barty smell inside that suit, I just might. ![]()
