Is It Over? The Writer's Strike

According to Micheal Eisner on CNBC yesterday, a deal has been made to bring the current writer's strike to an end. Apparently, the negotiators have reached an agreement which the writers will vote on this Saturday.

Of course, if the deal is ratified, we aren't going to see immediate results. As far as TV shows go, I'm assuming LOST will now have a short break after the current 8 or so episodes have aired, until new ones can be written and shot. But what about Galactica? Will this clear the way for actually ending the show? And will the proposed spin-off, Caprica, be shelved again? And just when will Chuck return with the new episodes that NBC ordered? Sci Fi Wire also looks at the films affected by the strike.

I've listed the shows I'm glad will be back. What are you looking forward to?

Chuck, for sure; also Pushing Daisies.

Either of both of us watch all of the above (save Galactica) but we're also hoping for a steady stream of Psych... USA's parody of their dearly departed Dead Zone.

Galactica for sure, but also The Big Bang Theory, for some reason I really like that show.

Oddly enough...I haven't missed television a bit! Gee, maybe I'll just read more books.

I love "Big Bang Theory" especially the super-nerdy jokes -- they're funny cus they're true.

Best part of the article:
"As a result of studio cutbacks, however, many of the writers who went on strike are unlikely to return to the same big-money contracts they'd had as individuals with the studios, Eisner said."

Poor poor writers -- so who really won when you took on the big bad studios?? Serves you right for screwing up my TV watching season, you bastages!

Personally, I wonder what effect this whole writers strike business will have on the new Star Trek movie. If what I've read and heard is anywhere near the truth, if ST:11 ended up with a new crop of writers it would only be a good thing.
