I've never read the Watchmen comic books, but after seeing this trailer, I'll have to find them and read them. This looks really cool:
Oddly enough, the teaser trailer for Terminator: Salvation doesn't really do a whole lot for me. I like Christian Bale as an actor, so maybe he can bring something to this film. I guess I'm just not as 'in' to Terminator as others?
And lastly, The Spirit:
I dunno, I'm leaning toward a 'meh'. Possibly because this aesthetic was already done in Sin City, which this trailer reminds me heavily of. Possibly because I'm not a Spirit fan. Can a 1940's comic hero survive the Frank Miller treatment? We'll see.

Yeah, I ordered the Watchmen for my library a while back. TIME magazine called it one of the best novels (not comic book or graphic novel, but novel) of the last 25 years.
As for the movie, maybe we'll be surprised. If the hard core fanbase doesn't like it, neither will the public.

I'm not as tense about the Watchmen movie as some Moore fans are. Like V for Vendetta, I'll take and enjoy what the movies gives me, and not worry about whether it gives me the comic book. To give me the comic book perfectly, the movie would have to...be...a comic book.
"The Spirit," meanwhile, just looks stranger and stranger. Frank Miller's taken Eisner's comic and made it into Sin City, by all appearances. I'm not really keen on that.

You need to pick up the graphic novel. THE WATCHMEN is a classic work, simply fantastic! I hope the movie will be a hit, but at the BATMAN midnight showing last night, there was no reaction when the trailer was shown.

"Watchmen" blew me away when I read it a couple years ago. I have my doubts as to whether it can be successfully translated to the present day - but the trailer gives me some hope. Good visuals, right attitude... of course, we'll wait and see if the studio ruins the whole thing with last minute edits ("I Am Legend," anyone?)

I LIKED I am Legend. Although I wish they'd gone with the alternate ending, instead of the one they went with. (Which is what you mean, I assume).
I hope Watchmen is well-received and does good things. ANd if nothing else, like V for Vendetta, it'll steer people toward the original Alan Moore comic. That can't be a bad thing.
...
I just can't think of anything to say about the new Terminator movie. Big fan of Christian Bale, but the teaser trailer doesn't get above a "meh" with me, I guess.

If nothing else, this certainly LOOKS like Watchmen, pretty much 100% translation of the comic frames, a la Sin City. Maybe another film to watch with the sound off, like the last three Star Wars?

It just doesn't get any better than the WATCHMEN graphic novel. Not in any medium.
I know that sounds like a bold statement.

The comic was OK, but nothing as great as your average novel. Frankly, I don't get the hype.
However, the film looked really close to the comic which was nice. I hope it does well, but I don't think that the average viewer has much connection to the comic, so I wonder how it will do.

All I know is that Alan Moore is pretty eccentric and his work has yet to really impress me like it seems to impress the rest of the world. I'll have to check out Watchmen before it comes out but coming from the guy who said 300 was fascist and racist...well I'm not holding my breath.

T4 should be decent at least because Christian Bale stars in it... I'm hoping Arnold ends up making an appearance too
