I found “Spin State” to be a superior novel to the ones you reference, definitely to “Singularity Sky” (weak) and “Golden Age” (muddled).

You get another chance. Read “Spin Control,” a loose sequel.

In fact, not that I obsess over the Klausner situation by trolling the web for interviews, she has stated that she makes it a point to only post happy reviews.
