The majority of respondents really like the new BG a lot. I think the SciFi channel finally has a win here.

For those of you not watching the new BG, for shame. This is one of the best SF shows on TV right now, along with Lost. Thanks to Bittorrent, I’ve seen the first 12 episodes (13 airs tonight, James you lucky….) and its light-years better than the first series. The stories are better, the actors are better, the effects are better, everything is better. While it is much more grim than the original, I think that makes it a better show. The characters know their first mistake could be their last, and the fate of the eniter human race basically rests in the hands of a very few people. Everyone acts accordingly.
The only disappointing thing about the new series are the episodes with Richard Hatch in them. I just don’t buy him as a terrorist. Both episodes were rather weak in my opinion, although the second one did serve to develop the characters quite a bit. Especially Baltar. Man, is he on slimy, self-serving SOB that no one seems to be able to see through. Of course it helps if people think you are eccentric to begin with, if not slightly insane.
Anyway, you should watch it, thus ensuring actual SF content on the SciFi Channel, and good SF for us all.
Thank you,
The Battlestar Galactic Fanboy Club
