I don’t really enjoy Penny Arcade (way too many naughty words), but they did a pretty stand-up thing a couple weeks ago by donating $10,000 to the charity Child’s Play when Jack Thompson had problems putting his money where his mouth was.
Yeah, this is old news, but I just found out about it last night while listening to Mur Lafferty’s Geek Fu Action Grip podcast.

Personally, Penny Arcade is a platform for Tycho and Gabe to rant or vent at times, but they do a great job with Child’s Play. It is one of those charity events put on by gamers that helps to prove that they are not all wackos who try to re-enact GTA in real life. I know last year they did events in Houston and other cities, and I donated some cash since the kids need gaming darned it. Its all about kharmic retribution and I need to really work on that
Unfortunately I can’t seem to follow the situation that led up to this donation – but good for them!
Check out Wikipedia’s entry on Jack Thompson. The whole story is recorded there.
Dave, a link would have been helpful… so I thought I would provide one…or two, or a few…
While reading the unofficial Photoshop weblog today, I found this gem. In the spirit of making video games less violent, folks Photoshopped various games to be kinder and gentler. Some are very, very funny.
