Author David Eddings Accidentally Burns Down Office

From the Nevada Appeal:
Fantasy writer David Eddings, 75, said he was using water to flush out the gas tank of his broken-down Excalibur sports car, when some fluid leaked. In a lapse of judgment he readily admitted, Eddings lit a piece of paper and threw into the puddle to test if it was still flammable. The answer came in an orange torrent.

I think the lesson to be learned here is don’t keep old cars in your garage because you never know when you might have a lapse of judgement and decided to blow it up…:-@
There’s gotta be a novel here somehow.
Another great quote from the article is where Eddings states he has a word to describe what he did: “Dumb.”
What a brilliant publicity ploy and he gets to make a claim on his insurance. (It’s not arson if you’re just “dumb” right?)
