SF Signal Nominated for KBCafe Blog Awards

SF Signal has been nominated for the KBCafe Blog Awards in the Best SF Blog category. I’m not sure what the criteria is for being nominated, but it’s a nice honor nonetheless.

Of course, winning would be even cooler, so stop by and vote before the polls close on January 10th, won’t you? :)

  1. So far you’re leading in the SF category.

Then again, it doesn’t seem to stop anyone from voting more than once (I assume that because it showed my voting options when I hit the page again, instead of the results. I didn’t try to actually double-vote), so if you get too far back, it’s just a matter of who can refresh the page faster, you or Corry Doctorow. ;)

I was also left unsure of whether this poll is extremely brilliant, or extremely poorly made. The selection for best Iraqi blog has a single candidate. So it’s obvious who is going to win. On the other hand, the national elections in Iraq during Saddam’s reign had only one party people could vote to, so it was also obvious who always won. Poor poll making, or brilliant political commentary?

Who cares, it’s fun either way.

  2. A little digging shows that nominations were made here, which means someone took the time to nominate us this year. Thanks to the person that did that! (Or, we were carried over from last year – we were nominated then, too. So thanks to the person that nominated us then.)

  3. Oh, and I’m guessing our lead is only temporary until Doctorow whispers something on the 400-pound Gorilla of BoingBoing. :(
