Tossing Pete a Bone: A Kate Beckinsale Rumor

Over the years, I’ve refined the kinds of things we post about. Generally speaking, I avoid rumor posts and such minutia as casting calls, box office tallies, DVD releases, etc. I mean, do we really need to write a post every time George Lucas farts?
So it is with some trepidation that I submit this casting rumor about Kate Beckinsale being tied to a remake of Barbarella. But I owe Pete a favor. Pete’s infatuation with Kate Beckinsale (some would call it a borderline stalking obsession) is legendary in these parts. Or those parts, if you know what I mean.

Infatuation?! HA! It is as pure as it can be between two people who have never met or will possibly never (unless I win the lottery) meet. As for that stalking charge, you’re right — I’m always looking for her with my TiVo because you’ll never know when she’d be battling vampires, or werewolves, or just sitting nekkid making out with Frances McDormand in the hot tub…
As for Barbarella, did they really consider Lindsay Lohan (what would that be? Barbarella: the 90210 years!?!?!) or Drew Barrymore (uh, ewww!)?!?!? Out of those 3, only KB would exude the “sexiness” that is Barbarella. Besides, we all know she looks awesome in leather! But then, who knows, it’s still just a rumour, right?
TiVo alert! With her new movie, Vacancy, opening and Luke Wilson being on Leno, she’s probably not far behind!
P.S.:
Class, for extra credit, without using IMDB, can you name the film where KB was nekkid in the hot tub? I only used IMDB to double check the spelling of “Frances McDormand” which I would have otherwise completely mangled!

Boy, I hope she’s a powerful enough actress to bring the…you know…acting needed for a Barbarella movie.

I do believe the answer to the extra credit was Laurel Canyon. I swear, I didn’t cheat. Good movie that.

We all have our desires whereas mine involves Grace Park (mmm Boomer), and Pete’s involves most attractive women in show business. You will simply have to pine over Ms Munro since she probably won’t be cast for Barbarella. :-@
