Do You Like Wonder Woman?

Michael May really, really wants to like Wonder Woman, but just can’t. Check out his excellent post, (Part 1 of a promising series) that explores the reasons why.
Wonder Woman should be the Sean Connery of her gender: men should want to be with her and women should want to be her. When Connery played Bond, he walked around every setting he found himself in as if he owned the place. Didn’t matter if it was his office, a hotel, or the villain’s headquarters, he was completely comfortable with himself. That’s how Wonder Woman should be.Not aggressively so. Not, as my friend Alex would say, “strident.” Connery never had to convince anyone through aggression that he was competent. You knew it by just looking at him. Wonder Woman should be the same way.

The perpetuation of this falsehood must end. Women have never really been all that big on Sean Connery. I’m a woman and I’ve always found him spectacularly overrated as a sex symbol – overrated by men. I’ve been around a while, and men have always gone on and on all dewy-eyed about how the women just love that Sean Connery. But then you ask women what they think and I’ve never known a woman whose answer wasn’t along the lines of, “I don’t give a fig about Sean Connery.” But just try being a woman and telling a guy straight to his face you don’t find Sean Connery particularly attractive or interesting. He’ll disbelieve you. What men insistently believe about women and Connery has no basis in reality.
I like Wonder Woman much better than I like Sean Connery, and I’m not even into comics. I just stumbled into all this among the Mary Jane comiquette (when did they stop calling them figurines?) kerfuffle.
Hmmm…sounds like Connery had a great publicity agent! (H)
I still don´t understand the correlation of 007 with Wonder Woman. Bond represents the stupid macho fantasy with guns, cars and screwing every woman that crosses his path. I believe men are much more than that. Besides, Sean Connery sucks as an actor… Wonder woman is a nice character, underdeveloped in fact, but that can be solved. She is not a normal human being and has a substantial background to grow from. For as long as nobody does to her a moronic/ ridicule plot like Catwoman, Electra or Lara Croft it would be nice to see in a movie. P.D. Lara Croft, Tomb Raider is the most nauseating movie ever made(H). Charlie´s Angels was a parody so it will not count.
Xena > everyone else.
No, Wonder Woman will never be able to have that kind of charisma James Bond has. She has that anti-male femdom baggage hanging on her. Bond never had or has a anti-woman, male supremacist thing going on…he’s just being a man.
This is the distinction many women will never grasp in their post-feminist confusion. Man is as man does. Woman can’t because she’s trying to be something she’s not.
