Oddly enough, I started reading the anthology last night. The first story (Craters, by Rusch) is moderately disturbing. It’ll be interesting to see if the rest of the tales are as good.
I liked the first story, “craters”, when I read it online. Is the online version the entire story or just an excerpt? It could stand on its own but I can also see how it could go on. Anyone know?
And I agree with Fred, more than a little disturbing.

But not as disturbing as someone agreeing with Fred! :-@
Yep, I just finished reading “Craters”, and it was definitely disturbing. I have not read many short stories, but that first one was pretty good…
Looking over the online version, it’s the whole thing. Baen may only put a few chapters up, but they will be complete chapters. I guess now is as good a time as any to point towards Baen’s Free Library where there are oodles of complete books, available for free?
:O
Yep, oodles of free military SF for your consumption
I am reading Gust Front right now on my PDA – not the most fun but still not bad.
