- Free audio fiction: The CBC radio adaptation of D.F. Jones’ Colossus: The Forbin Project, a story about a “massive, eponymous American defense computer becoming sentient and deciding to assume control of the world.” It was also adapted into a movie. [via 8 1/2 short films about zombies]
- The British Fantasy Society has announced the nominees for the The British Fantasy Awards. [via Adventures in Reading]
- Eric Brown reviews Splinter by Adam Roberts.
- The LA Times article The Future Keepers profiles Philip K. Dick. [via Locus Online]
- The Sci-Fi Science website was created by professional scientists wanting to explore the science behind the science fiction.
- Real science: The Planetary Society has an enormous image of Iapetus, one of Saturn’s moons, taken by the Cassini space probe. [via James Nicoll]
- Besides admitting to being part of the worst rendition of “Oh, Susanna!” in “in any imaginable universe”, Michael Swanwick also points out that Nancy Kress has a blog. She has been added to the list of sf/f authors who blog.
- Humor: McSweeney’s has a Troubleshooting Guide for Timecorp’s VH3928-model Time Machine. [via A Place for Strangers and Beggars]

Ah, Colossus. I remember the film. And I actual read the first two novels of the trilogy. I never got around to reading the third. But lately I’ve had an idle curiosity to dig them up and read them all.
They weren’t that good, mind you. But I am curious how the author wrapped it all up.
