Subterreanean is easily my favorite of the online ‘zines. Great fiction there each and every quarter. I have a growing stack of print zines to read, but I would suggest that it is as good as anything in print, too.
Dear Bill,
Just wanted to thank you for running “The Pile,” based on notes that our son Jamie left behind on his computer, in Subterranean Online. On Sunday, July 12, 2009, the story received the Shirley Jackson Award for Best Short Story of 2008 at the ceremony at Readercon in Burlington, MA — a gratifying but nonetheless poignant development.
Sincerely,
Mike
