- Continuing yesterday’s awkwardness, here’s another book cover that makes me tingly: Tobias Buckell’s Sly Mongoose.
- At SciFi Wire, John Joseph Adams profiles Paul Melko, author of Singularity’s Ring. Tim Pratt also has an interview with Melko.
- Interview links from Locus Online:
- Creative Commons interviews James Patrick Kelly (Burn and the upcoming collection The Wreck of the Godspeed).
- ActuSf interviews Jonathan Stroud (The Bartimeus trilogy).
- McNally Robinson interviews Robert J. Sawyer (Rollback).
- The Writers’ Block interviews Jeremy C. Shipp (Vacation).
- Eos Blog features guest blogger Jonathan Barnes, who talks about his novel The Somnambulist.
- Recently free fiction at ManyBooks.net: “Accidental Death” by Peter Baily.
- Move over Han Solo, Paizo Publishing looks at Science Fiction’s Original Badass, C.L. Moore’s Northwest Smith.
- Speaking of Robert J. Sawyer, he offers up these interesting tidbits:
- World Fantasy Award winner Nalo Hopkinson has joined the Red Deer Press team as the editor of her own fantasy imprint.
- Sawyer also examines Literary vs. commercial fiction.
- Books Under the Bridge continues its series of posts about religion in science fiction with The Future of Religion (Part 4). The bottom line: “Very few novels in science fiction portray humans as religious.” He then follows with a list of a few sf books that do.
- SF Universe talks with Summer Glau (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles).
- Attention Firefly fans! Steven Brust has released his Firefly novel, My Own Kind of Freedom, as freely-downloadable fanfic. [via Fred K. from Texas Best Grok]
- Star Wars humor: Topless Robot lists 10 Star Wars Toys that Unintentionally Look Like Other Celebrities. That Dengar/Johnny Cash one had me laughing.
