- Following Terry Pratchett’s recent contribution to Alzheimer’s research, Pat Cadigan has started a campaign to get Terry Pratchett fans to match his generous donation. The campaign is called “Match it for Pratchett.” [via BoingBoing]
- James Wallace Harris asks: What Motivates Science Fiction Fantasies? “We live in at least three worlds. The first is the unseen world of microbiology and its programming. The second is the actual reality where our bodies dwell. And third is the fantasy world of our minds where we constantly reshape reality.”
- Fred K. reminds us of Unshelved, a web comic that covers books, like this one about Larry Niven’s Ringworld.
- Recently free fiction at ManyBooks.net: “Teams (A Terran Empire story)” by Ann Wilson
- 411 Mania looks at SciFi Sidekicks.
- Those lucky bastards at Slice of SciFi podcast interview Theoretical Physicist Dr. Michio Kaku, author of Hyperspace and Physics of the Impossible. (Starts at the 30-minute mark). Funny: listening to the smarmimess of the “Borg vs. Death Star” question being met with the cold, hard seriousness of Type IV civilizations. “Ohhhhhhh,” they say in unison.
- If there were such a thing as bookshelf pr0n, then it would definitely include this Heartbeat Bookshelf.
- Black Sundae points us to some 2001: A Space Odyssey-inspired Lego creations: The spaceship Discovery and The Dawn of Man.

You need to put a link to that Unshelved comic on Ringworld.
Well it’s hardly any fun if I have to provide all the links, isn’t it?
Thanks…link fixed.
