He’d like to come and meet us, but he thinks he’d blow our minds.
…and for your musical comparison…

Right on! Love this tune and I like having both versions available.
Bowie, like Robert Lamm (Chicago), Sting, Elton John, and others, have voices that have aged gracefully. To be honest, I’ll take the older Bowie singing older songs most of the time. There are times, however, when you actually want Ziggy singing. Case in point: Moonage Daydream and Rock and Roll Suicide, both from the Ziggy Stardust movie soundtrack.
I like classic Bowie best, but yes, he has aged well despite not having the same vocal range.
My favorite Bowie Tune: “Queen B***h” from Hunky Dory. The original version is a little faster and edgier, but still a sweet tune with a Lou Reed-like riff.
Love the set on that first clip. I wonder what the giant maxi pads represent.
Diamond Dogs for the win! (H)
Thanks for posting this. I’ve been scrolling through the videos, and I’m also pretty partial to the lovely versions of “The Man Who Sold the World” and “Ashes to Ashes.”
Who was it who said that David Bowie is the only person she and her grandchildren would both agree is cool?
