Hyperpat's HyperDay sez: Special Effects Do Not a Good Movie Make. Agreed. Anyone who has seen a Star Wars prequel can attest to that.
The Website at the End of the Universe asks: Does letting kids read SF&F harm their mental health? Utter nonsense. Look how fine I turned out? Oh, wait...
The World in the Satin Bag asks: Should Science Fiction Be Taught in Schools? I wish they had a science fiction source when I went to school. Instead, I was force-fed Wuthering Heights. It tasted like Brussel Sprouts.

- There's a list of The 20 Movers And Shakers In Science Fiction at io9. Kathryn Cramer disagrees. Her more-book-oriented list includes Lou Anders, Jonathan Strahan, Elizabeth Bear, Cory Doctorow, John Scalzi, Patrick Nielsen Hayden, Gardner Dozois, Michael Swanwick, David Langford, Ellen Datlow, and Connie Willis.
Lou Anders, when he's not moving and shaking, is talking about Batman in The Brave and the Bold.
It's John C. Wright vs. Pirates. No...really!
