The Harlan Ellison story on which this film was based, was excellent. This 1975 adaptation starring Don Johnson and Jason Robards...not so much.

This movie is a cult classic - in the 'so bad its good' variety. With lines like "I'm tired, I'm hungry, and I just want to get laid" how can you go wrong? It also has an unexpected ending that I believe makes the movie.
Warning to those who haven't seen it, the film is R-rated and filled with adult content. I'd hate for somebody to assume this would be good for children.

Oh, I don't know.
It's not the excellence of the story, but I was surprised that the ending was as uncompromising as the story. I had expected them to soften it.
It's a cult movie, as Scottsh suggests. I watched it once, I am not tempted to watch it again soon, but I can see how some people might want to watch and re-watch it.

Hey! Thanks for the mention!
I just added Robinson Crusoe on Mars to the lineup at the CSFC.
One of the things that some folks might want to keep in mind is that the versions of these films that most are familiar with - the Saturday afternoon 'sci fi thrillers' versions - are very chopped up and edited to 'fit your screen and the time slot'. If you watch the online versions, you're very likely to see scenes and hear dialogue you've never seen or heard before.
One final note: Johnny Quest was not the cartoon that had only the 'lips moving animation' - that was Clutch Cargo and a couple of others from the same anime studio.
