Not that a care about Whoopi one way or the other, but her popularity is there. Being a host on The View she gets plenty of visibility. Whether that translate to people watching an ionline show, I couldn't say.

One of the big problems with BSG after the middle of seaons 2 (or thereabouts) is that the writers took all the media commentary about the show being about Bush/War on Terror/Iraq/Gitmo, etc. to heart. It became some sort of allegory/parable/satire about current events (and a very muddled one at that). The politics of the show are so vague and screwed up that anyone can see anything they want in the plot and characters and write about them. And Newsweek, The New York Times, etc. have all done exactly that.
