- Free Excerpt: BookSpot Central is featuring a preview of the first three chapters of The Dragon's Nine Sons by Chris Roberson, one on my favorite reads. The latest book in Roberson's Celestial Empire series, Three Unbroken, has just been released.
- Jeff VanderMeer reveals The genesis of Shriek: An Afterword.
- There's a less-than-stellar interview at Pat's Fantasy Hotlist with Glen Cook. More enlightening, perhaps, are the responses by Andrew Wheeler and Matt Staggs.
- Awards News: Winners of 2008 Gaylactic Spectrum Awards have been announced. [via Locus Online]
- Neal Asher really likes showing off his bookcases!
- Empire Online has some cool Watchmen Portraits, which quite frankly, put the Wolverine poster to shame.
- Jeff Somers hates Fringe. "...I watched my first episode of Fringe, and it sucked." It didn't help that his first exposure was in the episode in which a computer virus liquefies your brains. What is it, I wonder, that makes me tolerate such foolery on one show (Fringe, which I still like) and denounce it on others (like Heroes) to the point where I stop watching it?
- Over ar Mania, Tim Janson lists The Top 15 Greatest Science Fiction Writers of All-Time. Sadly, Pel Toro is not on the list. Is your favorite author on the list?
- Ectoplasmosis offers this tongue-in-cheek The Three Laws of Female Robotics. [Sexy cat noise!]
- SFX offers this Brief History Of Sci-Fi TV Spin-Offs. I'm thrilled (and by "thrilled" I mean "nauseated") to see the unique level of suck that is Galactica 1980 make the list. Please, SFX, don't remind me!
