Tube Bits for 01/06/09
  • While LOSTmas is still two weeks away (Jan. 21st), ABC has screened the two hour premier for critics and BuddyTV has two words for LOST fans: Shih Tzus. How does this furry little yappy dog figure into the dense mythology? Tune in on LOSTmas to find out!
  • ExpressNightOut lists all the things that make Battlestar Galactica great. I can't say I disagree, but all Tim needed to hear was 'Boomer'.
  • Want to catch up on all the BG webisodes? Then head on over to Sci Fi and check them out. New, for reals episodes start Jan. 16th. and it should be interesting to see how things are resolved.
  • Ten Ton Hammer interviews Rob Hill and Kevin Beardslee of Trion World Network, Inc., the brains behind the Sci Fi Channel MMO that is being worked on right now. Ten Ton asks a good question: Considering the failure of most SF oriented MMO, why would Sci Fi think an MMO based on a SF TV succeed? Aside from the obvious 'leveraging a popular brand' (and how well did that work out Star Wars Galaxies?), I'm not sure they made a case for their game to avoid a similar fate.
  • Who doesn't like a good space battle? No one! But do you know the physics behind the lasers and kinetic weapons? These guys do:


    You know what's missing from most SF on TV today? Big @$$ spaceship battles. And with BG going away, we won't have that anymore.
