- John Joseph Adams announces the publication of a reprint anthology, The Improbable Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, which will contain tales of both mystery and the fantastic. Hopefully, there will be little overlap with Sherlock Holmes in Orbit, which waits patiently in “the archives”…
- Ellen Datlow has posted photos from a recent Edgar Allan Poe event featuring Gregory Frost, John Langan, Laird Barron, and Poe editor Ellen Datlow.
- Pitfalls of Prophecy: Why Science Fiction So Often Fails to Predict the Future, an essay by Gary Westfahl, identifies the seven Fallacies of Prediction, debunks some of SF’s current predictions about the future, and offers some predictions of his own. - I *so* would have loved this Space Invaders alarm clock back in the 80′s. These days, I see the alarm clock for what it truly is: an instrument of the Devil.
