- The late Forrest J Ackerman’s rare science fiction memorabilia collection is on the auction block. Items include the Count Dracula ring worn by Bela Lugosi in 1931′s Dracula, the vampire cape Lugosi wore for decades, Lugosi’s wardrobe from Plan 9 From Outer Space, a signed, 1st edition copy of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, a 1st-edition copy of Dracula signed by Bram Stoker and Bela Lugosi, Boris Karloff and other horror film notables.

It is sad to read about Ackerman’s collection being auctioned off. I would have hoped that it could be kept together in some sort of museum rather than portioned off to the highest bidders. On a related note, not sure if I had a copy of Dracula signed by Bram Stoker that I would have had actors who played the character sign it as well. Does that increase or lessen the value?
