TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) is a yearly conference held in Long Beach and “brings together the world’s most fascinating thinkers and doers, who are challenged to give the talk of their lives (in 18 minutes).” They then post the best of these talks online for all to see, and they have a bunch of really cool speakers. One of them was J.J. Abrams, who, in 2007, talked about the ‘mystery’ box he bought as a child and how it has influenced his shows, and specifically LOST.

Of course, at some point, TV/movie viewers are going to want to look in the box. Yeah, I’m looking at you Cloverfield.
