XIII Comes To NBC Tomorrow Night

I'm not sure how I managed to completely miss this, but while I was rummaging around NBC's site, I stumbled across a link to a new mini-series, XIII. Looking at the logo for the series, I thought it looked very familiar and it does. The mini-series is based on the comic book/computer game versions of XIII. What's it about?

The adrenaline-charged miniseries begins dramatically as the first female U.S. president is shot dead by a sniper during her Veteran's Day speech. Three months later, a wounded man is found tattered in a forest with no memory of his identity. The only clue is a tattoo on his neck -- "XIII."

Ah yes, the age old 'amnesia' device.

I've heard the comic and the game were decent, if not very good, so maybe the mini-series will be as well. On the other hand, how many movie/TV adaptations of comics/games turn out to be good? Very few. Still, XII stars Val Kilmer (who NBC chooses to associate with the movie The Doors when we all know his iconic role is Real Genius) so that right there is enough to get me interested. Add in some government conspiracy and I'll watch for at least the first night. If it's good, I'll go for night two.

XII stars tomorrow night at 9/8c and finishes next week on the 15th. The big question: Will XII be enough to erase the memory of Willow?

Oh, sir!  Willow remains awesome and it stands the test of time in awesomeness!

I've seen it already. It's okay for a light night's tv. The video gamers who played XIII will enjoy it. The readers of the bande desinee will think it lightweight. Dorff is good, Kilmer is a small part.
