Ah, the good ol' days of 8-bit video gaming...I miss them like I miss a canker sore. At least I though I did until Laughing Squid pointed me to 2600 Online, a website that lets you play dozens of classic Atari 2600 games online.
The Atari 2600 was my first video game system. (Followed by the ColecoVision, the Atari 5200 and finally, the Commodore 64, which was my introduction into computers). I guess I do have fond memories of the 2600. I recall an array of videogame boxes proudly displayed for people to view in awe. Not that anyone ever did. Hmmm...in retrospect, that was my first dip into the waters of media whoring. Later came CD's DVD and of course, books.
2600 Online has a bunch of my old games plus several new ones. Check out what's in store!

My favorite Atari 2600 game by far was Adventure. Now it looks like I'm going to loose even more time to it, 35-odd years later.

BoingBoing had a pretty funny post along the lines of "Tell me, Grandpa, what were 'video arcades'?" this week.

Unbelieveable, and yes... scary. I ran thru the Yellow Castle maze just like I had played it yesterday.

I liked the old "Wizards and Warriors" game when I bought my first computer in 1987 for the Atari 130xe. I think Ntendo had released it originaly.
