- Kay Kenyon starts her stories with world building.
- SFF Audio adds Ted Chiang to its ever-growing list of author pages which feature podcast/story links for each writer.
- Theodora Goss has been added to the list of sf/f authors who blog.
- Free fiction: “The Mirror Men” by Stuart Clark.
- Ian Sales reviews the Hugo short story nominees. Short version: “…a poor selection of short stories, and I find it hard to believe they were the best last year had to offer.” Ouch!
- The Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA), founded in 1965 by the late Damon Knight, has a new new mission statement. [via Locus Roundtable]
- Tor.com offers up this Star Trek Primer…in case anyone out there doesn’t know what Trek is yet.
- Also at Tor: David Gibbons draws Rorschach.
- Think you can name all of the novels by Dan Simmons? Take this quiz to find out.
- I like Star Wars as much as the next geek, but I’d have to be pretty drunk to get a Star Wars tattoo. OK, an AT-AT tattoo is cool, but no way am I getting a Jar Jar tattoo.
