- Michael Cassutt, over at SF Wire, shows how Trek and Galactica’s word building changed the world. Yes word building, not world building. He goes into interesting detail about all the new and interesting words SF has given to society. Yes, ‘frak’ is here as you’d expect. Sadly, ‘spoo’ is not. G’Kar would be upset.
- You remember Jericho, CBS short-lived post-apocalyptic series right? The one that was given a short second season because a lot of crazy fans sent in tons of nuts, only to not tune in and actually watch the second season, but I digress. Devil’s Due Publishing has inked a deal with CBS to turn Jericho into a comic book. The comic will pick up where the series left off.
- Due to bad planning, the BBC television network destroyed many episodes of the early Dr. Who series to make room in its vault for new programming. They’ve been trying to find lost tapes ever since, and they believe a stash of them exists in Zimbabwe. The problem: Robert Mugabe hates the UK and won’t let the BBC in to search Zimbabwe’s TV library. First, The Sun has a classic ‘Mugabe as Dalek’ chop. Second, come on Mugabe, it’s early Who! Can’t we all just get along and let the BBC in? Fans everywhere would swoon!
- MetroMix Chicago has a middling review for the pilot of the ABC sitcom Better Off Ted. They give it 3 out 5, but say it may be the funniest debut of 2009 and it has heaps of potential. I see a Eureka clone given The Office treatment that could nose dive right out of the gate. Premiers March 18th.

Actually, Davros technically isn’t a Dalek.
