- Liam Neeson & Ralph Fiennes Join Clash Of The Titans. Who approved this remake? Retribution must commence! Release the Kraken!!! Seriously, Sir Laurence Olivier is probably rolling over in his grave, albeit through the method of posthumous digital restoration…
- Interviews & Profiles:
- Golem.de has an interesting video interview with Cory Doctorow.
- John Kessel interviews James Patrick Kelly (Part One).
- The latest Big Idea at Whatever: Robert J. Sawyer, author of WWW:Wake.
- Billy Bob Thornton likes horror films. In a super awkward radio interview, actor/musician Billy Bob Thornton talks about his boyhood love for film monsters. Too bad it was in response to a completely different question. Check out the 2:20 minute mark of this video, when asked if he loved music when he was kid, Thornton responds by saying “I subscribed to a magazine called Famous Monsters of Filmland which — the publisher was a guy named Forrest J. Ackerman who passed away recently.” Umm..thanks, Billy Bob. The interview really gets out of control at 3:50
- Book View Cafe Holds Twitter-Fic contest!
- Optimism in Literature around the World, and SF in particular, part 3: SF in South Korea today.
- Thanks to Sci-Fi-O-Rama for pointing out this way-cool Kazuaki Saito cover art gallery over at Pink Tentacle.
- Derektori lists The 5 Best Epic Fantasy Novels Books You Can’t Miss.
- Topless Robot lists The 9 Awesomest Things that William Shatner Has Done That Have Nothing to Do with Captain Kirk.

I recently picked up the original in a bargain bin. It still holds up even if the stop motion animation isn’t as slick as CGI. The DVD wasn’t of great quality, though.
I also understand that the plot is seriously different this time. And since Greek Myth and stories have a tradition of being told and retold with different variations, I am actually okay with this. After all, this might mean that a *good* DVD version of the original might get released!
I just wanted an excuse to say “Release the Kraken!!!”
WHY…don’t we all have t-shirts that say “RELEASE THE KRAKEN!!!” on them, and what is being done to rectify this? And why is rectify such a creepy word?
