My Favorite Sci Fi Movie Of All Time

College Humor explains what their favorite science fiction movie of all time is and now that they mention it, it's uncanny, really.

I disagree.  If it's uncanny then so is the resemblance to Harry Potter or any number of other legends involving lost youth.  Having someone's parents (or parent) die early in life only for them to subsequently achieve greatness is nothing new.  I also wouldn't call Kirk's story the central theme of the new Star Trek.  There's no trime travel in Star Wars as well as no fight for leadership amongst allies, to name two of the biggest differences.

Alas! Humor, that sad misunderstood concept. Nitpicking, on the other hand... :)

I saw the new Star Trek film 5 times and loved it.  It's at the top of my list too at the moment because it's a tremendous jumpstart to the original series (which still holds a fond place in my heart).  But yes, this is hilarious!

Great video! I'd be astonished if the screenwriters of the new Star Trek weren't aware of these similarities. Perhaps they brought it up with Abrams and he said to heck with it...no one will ever make the connection.
