Here’s the new promo for Flash Forward, the series based on Robert J. Sawyer‘s novel of the same name. (Sorta, Sawyers novel was actually one word: Flashforward, but that’s television for ya’…)
This makes me want to read the novel now. <homer>Stupid promo…</homer>
Anyone else excited about this?

I haven’t read Robert J. Sawyer’s original novel, but I’ve read his “WWW: Wake” effort and if Flashforward is anything near as thoughtful and thought-provoking as “Wake” was, and if the TV execs stay true to that vision, then YES, I’m definitely looking forward to it.
That’s a lot of ifs, I realize.
I have been reading the book, but it looks like the series only loosely based on the book. 6 months instead of 20 years. It also seems to concentrate on regular people instead of the LHC scientists that the book does.
RJS talked about the trailer when he was here in Edmonton a few weeks back,I’ll be tuning in when its on.
Flash Forward is one of my favourite Sawyer books. I’m cautiously optimistic about the TV series.
Heck yeah I’ll be watching it, and it isn’t the trailer that convinced me. Flashforward isn’t quite Sawyer’s best novel (Calculating God takes that trophy– my review here!), but it’s definitely in his top five. I’m glad to see the mainstream taking an interest.
