Hehehe
Allow me to correct a minor but rather important mistake here.
James at Big Dumb Object summarises my post from the SHINE blog called “Why I Can’t Write a Near-Future, Optimistic SF Story, the Excuses“ in his post called ”Excuses For Writing Optimistic Science Fiction”.
He does mention correctly in his post itself that it is about excuses for NOT writing optimistic, near-future SF, but the omission of the word “NOT” in the title implies the opposite.
And now you’ve taking over the title of his blog post, which may lead people to believe that I am trying to edit the sequel to “Wastelands” (nothing against JJA, BTW: he’s a metal maniac just like me. We just have different themes for our projects).
And I’m getting too many dystopian stories already, and I can’t tell those writers to try Allen Ashley, as “Catastrophia” has just closed to submissions…;-)
Ack! You’re entirely right, Jetse. I read James’s post too fast and missed that it was a summary of your post, which I covered in a previous tidbits post myself! As penance for these circular reference shenanigans, I will spin in my desk chair until I’m too dizzy to blog.
